CAREGIVER MATH TUTORING

Are you a parent of a student in primary to grade 9 who struggles to help their child with their math homework? No worries! The Halifax Helpers has put together a series of workshops to help caregivers of K-9 students learn the "new way of math" in order to support their children.

This program was originally created in partnership with SchoolsPlus and HRCE in 2022, and as of August 2026 is undergoing a series of updates.

The Halifax Helpers operates in Mi’kma’ki, the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. These lands are covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, which were originally signed by the Mi’kmaq, Welostoqiiyik, and Passamaquody People with the British Crown in 1726. We are all Treaty People. 

 

We also acknowledge that people of African descent are historic Nova Scotian residents who have made meaningful contributions to our province for over 400 years.
